How do families select their puppy?
Our puppy selection process is designed to be fair and accommodating to all families interested in our adorable puppies. When the puppies reach six weeks of age, we organize an open house for families to come and meet them in person. However, we understand that not everyone may be able to attend the open house, so we also offer the option of scheduling a face time session for puppy selection.
During the selection process, we kindly request families to provide us with their top three choices among the available puppies. Based on the date a deposit was placed, we carefully match the puppies to the families' preferences. It's important to note that we have families who have been patiently waiting on our wait list for a considerable time, and we honor their deposit dates.
Every one of our puppies is delightful and well-socialized, ensuring they will make loving additions to any family. We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our selection order, as it allows us to fairly pair each puppy with their new forever home. Rest assured that all our puppies have been given the best care and love, so regardless of the selection order, you can expect a wonderful furry companion to bring joy into your life
We take great pride in the care and upbringing of our puppies, ensuring they have the best start in life. Our puppies are raised either inside our home or in the loving environment of one of our well-trained guardian homes, where they are treated with the utmost care and attention.
To promote a loving and trainable temperament in our puppies, we follow Service Dog Protocols during their early development. Each puppy receives daily handling and interaction, fostering socialization and human bonding from an early age.
We understand the importance of early stimulation for a puppy's overall well-being and development. As part of our commitment to their growth, we provide both Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Integration training. These methods have been proven to have significant benefits for the puppies' mental and emotional development.
For Early Neurological Stimulation, we employ specific exercises designed to enhance the puppy's neurological functioning. These activities are carefully implemented during the first weeks of their lives, helping them become more adaptable, resilient, and confident as they grow.
Early Scent Integration is another crucial aspect of our training approach. By introducing them to different scents at an early age, we help the puppies develop a more acute sense of smell, which can be beneficial for various purposes later in life.
We believe that a well-rounded and positive early experience sets the foundation for a happy and successful life for our puppies. By incorporating these training methods and providing them with a loving environment, we ensure they are ready to bring joy and companionship to their future forever homes.
For more information about the benefits of early stimulation, you can refer to the article provided at this link: https://breedingbetterdogs.com/article/early-neurological-stimulation. It explains in detail the advantages of such practices and their impact on a puppy's development.
Yes, we do not ship our puppies in cargo, as we prioritize their safety and well-being. However, we recommend two alternative options for transporting our puppies to their new homes if you aren't able to drive.
1. In-Cabin Flight: You can purchase a plane ticket for yourself to Greenville GSP. On your return flight you can purchase a ticket for the puppy (usually around $125-$150) to fly in-cabin as carry on under your seat in a TSA approved travel bag. Most airlines make you purchase the puppy's ticket over the phone or either in person at the ticket counter.
2. Flight Nanny Transport: Additionally, if you are unable to fly yourself you can book and arrange a flight nanny. We recommend using https://flightnannyqtpettransport.com/ . You will arrange your flight nanny directly with them. Please note if you chose the flight nanny service, your payment is due at the time we hand the puppy over to the flight nanny.
Both of these transportation methods prioritize the well-being of the puppy and aim to minimize stress and discomfort during the journey. We want to ensure that your new furry family member arrives safely and comfortably to their new home, allowing them to settle in and start creating beautiful memories with your family.
Yes, Bernedoodles do require regular grooming to keep their coats healthy and looking their best. The grooming needs of a Bernedoodle can vary based on their coat type, which can be straight, wavy, or curly, and whether they have inherited more of their Bernese Mountain Dog or Poodle parent's coat characteristics.
The frequency of grooming sessions will depend on the individual dog's coat and the desired length of their fur. As a general guideline, Bernedoodles should be groomed at minimum every 8 to 10 weeks.
The health and safety of our precious puppies and our own family are of utmost importance to us. As a result, we have implemented certain precautions regarding puppy visits.
Given that our puppies are raised inside our own private home, we want to ensure that they are not exposed to any potential health risks before they receive their first round of vaccinations. This is a critical time for their developing immune systems, and we take every measure to protect them from potential illnesses.
For this reason, we regret that we cannot allow visits from virtual strangers to our home. However, we highly value the families who have placed deposits on our waitlist, as they have shown their commitment and dedication to providing loving homes for our puppies.
To offer a safe and enjoyable experience for our potential puppy parents, families on the deposit list will have the option of a one-time visit at the age of 6 weeks. By this time, the puppies will have received their initial vaccinations, minimizing the risk of any potential illnesses. This visit allows families to meet the puppies in person, engage with them, and choose their future furry companion directly.
For families who are unable to travel to our location, we understand the need for virtual interactions. Thus, we also offer the option of a facetime visit, where families can still have a firsthand experience of meeting the puppies and making their selection remotely.
Our primary goal is to ensure the health and well-being of our puppies during their crucial early stages of development. By adhering to these guidelines, we create a safe environment for them to thrive and grow into happy, healthy companions for their forever homes.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our puppies and family safe during this exciting time of welcoming new additions to our loving homes.
At approximately 6 weeks old, we offer families the opportunity to choose their puppy through or facetime sessions or a one time schedule open house. This intentional timing allows us to observe the puppies' developing temperaments, ensuring that the right puppy finds their perfect match with the right family.
To maintain the quality of our breeding program and to support our service and therapy dog prospects, we reserve the first pick of every litter. This ensures that we can continue producing exceptional puppies for specific purposes.
As part of our commitment to responsible puppy placement, we strongly encourage families to consider various factors, such as temperament, size, and coat type, in addition to color and gender, when choosing their puppy. During our facetime or zoom calls, we will discuss each puppy's unique personality, helping families make an informed and loving decision.
To maintain fairness, families will have the opportunity to choose their puppy in the order in which we received their reservations and $500 non-refundable deposits. This ensures that everyone on our waitlist gets their chance to select their furry companion based on their individual preferences and needs.
We take great pride in matching our puppies with the best-suited families, creating lifelong bonds and happy homes. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that each puppy finds the perfect family, and we are excited to embark on this journey with you.
Thank you for considering our waiting list for your future puppy. Typically, families get on our waiting list approximately 6 months before they plan to take a puppy home. However, occasionally, we may have last-minute availability due to unforeseen circumstances.
When reserving a puppy, the timing of when you actually receive your puppy may vary slightly. If you have specific preferences, such as gender, coat type, or coloring, the waiting time might be longer as we may have fewer puppies that meet your specific criteria. On the other hand, families who are more flexible and open to various options may find that they can choose from a litter within a few months.
Our priority is to match each family with the most suitable puppy for their unique preferences and lifestyle. We believe that the right connection between a family and their future furry companion is worth the wait, and we are committed to ensuring a successful and happy pairing.
We are excited to welcome you into our extended family of puppy parents and look forward to providing you with a wonderful and loving addition to your home. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or need further information.
At Blueridge Bernedoodles Breeder, we believe that every puppy deserves to be healthy, happy, and loved. That's why we focus on breeding dogs that are not only beautiful but also have excellent temperaments and are free of any genetic health issues.
We place a high priority on the health and well-being of our puppies, which is why we schedule a full examination with a licensed veterinarian when they reach 6-7 weeks of age. During this visit, the puppies undergo a thorough examination to ensure they are in good health before they go to their forever homes. Additionally, they receive their first DHPP shots, helping to protect them against common canine diseases.
To further prioritize the safety of our puppies, we have made the decision to discontinue microchipping them before they go to their new homes. We believe that at such a young age, there is a possibility of severe reactions and potential migration of the microchip, which could lead to other immune issues later on, or even severe sickness.
Instead, we suggest that families consider microchipping their puppy at a later stage when the puppy's immune system is more mature. This approach reduces the risk of any adverse reactions and ensures the well-being of the puppy throughout their early development.
Our main goal is to provide the best start in life for our puppies, and we believe that the decision to microchip at a more appropriate age aligns with this objective. We are committed to working with each family to ensure the successful integration of their new furry family member, and we appreciate your understanding and support of our responsible breeding practices. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

Bernedoodle puppies are not registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) since the AKC does not currently recognize hybrid or designer breeds like Bernedoodles. However, we do register our puppies with the Continental Kennel Club (CKC), which does recognize and register doodles, including Bernedoodles.
All of our breeding dogs, whether they are Bernese Mountain Dogs, Poodles, or Bernedoodles, are either registered with the AKC, CKC, or both. This ensures that our breeding program maintains the highest standards and follows appropriate guidelines for responsible breeding practices.
While AKC registration is not available for Bernedoodles, CKC registration provides our puppies with a recognized pedigree, enabling families to have a record of their puppy's lineage and genetic background.
We take great pride in our breeding program and are committed to producing healthy, happy, and well-socialized Bernedoodle puppies. Our dedication to responsible breeding practices and registering our puppies with CKC reflects our commitment to the well-being and quality of our puppies and the satisfaction of their new families.
