How do we select our puppy?
When the puppies are six weeks old we will offer an open house. If families aren't able to attend the open house for puppy selection we will then schedule a face time. We ask families to give us their top three choices, and then we match the puppies based on the date a deposit was placed. We have families that have been on our wait list for a long time and we honor those deposit dates. All of our puppies are wonderful and well socialized, but we do ask that you understand and respect our selection order of matching puppies.
Inside our home or in one of our well trained guardian home, using Service Dog Protocols! Each of our puppies are handled with care on a daily basis. We provide the early stimulation our puppies need to ensure a loving, trainable temperament . Attached is an excellent article that explains the benefit of early stimulation. We complete both the Early Neurological stimulation as well as the Early Scent Integration training as well. https://breedingbetterdogs.com/article/early-neurological-stimulation.
We are happy to have our puppies fly WITH you in-cabin from the Greenville, SC (GSP) airport, but we will not ship our puppies in cargo. We can also provide one of our own to transport the puppy for the cost of a plane ticket and a $500 service fee.
Yes, they should be groomed every 8-10 weeks at the minimum.
Our puppies are raised INSIDE our own private home. For the safety of our family, and also the health and well being of our puppies, we can't allow virtual strangers in our home. Those on the deposit list will have the option of one time visit at 6 weeks ( after the puppies have received their first round of vaccines) to pick out their puppy in person or facetime if they are unable to travel. The puppies go home at 8 weeks.
You choose your puppy (by zoom or facetime) when puppies are approximately 5-6 weeks old. ( Puppies go home at 8 weeks) We wait that long to have families to choose their puppies so we can see temperaments and ensure that the right puppy goes home with the right family. We also reserve the first pick of every litter for our own breeding program or service/ therapy dog prospects. We strongly encourage families to choose a puppy based on temperament, size, and coat type, not JUST color/gender, and we will speak about each puppy's personality during our facetime or zoom call.
Families will choose their puppy in the order of when we received their reservation/ $500 non refundable deposit.
Families generally get on our waiting list about 6-12 months prior to taking home a puppy, although we do sometimes have a last minute availability. When you reserve your puppy may a little bearing on when you actually get your puppy. The more specific you are about your desires ( example, gender, coat, and or coloring) then the longer the waiting time because we might have fewer puppies meeting your criteria. Families who are more flexible will often be able to choose from a litter within a few months.
Our adult dogs are given a thorough physical exam (including blood work and fecal) by our vet before each breeding. We also DNA test all our adult dogs so that we can breed out hundreds of genetically inheritable diseases. Although Hip and elbow Dysplasia are often caused by environmental factors as well, we also are in the process of x-ray our adults dogs' hip and elbow to help prevent dysplasia. We also test OFA heart and OFA eyes.
Our puppies go to our vet at age 6-7 weeks for a full examination and receive their first DHPP shots. We do not buy shots online and self administer. We believe it's important that our puppies are examined and treated by a licensed veterinarian.
We no longer microchip puppies before they go to their homes. There i s a chance that a puppy that young could have a severe reaction from microchips that could potentially migrate. This could lead to other immune issues later, and severe sickness.
We suggest that families microchip their puppy when the puppy is older and the immune system is more mature.
Yes, absolutely! We provide our puppy families with a certificate for 30 days of free Trupanion pet insurance. We recommend Trupanion because they do no have a waiting period or underwriting period, and we have found that most puppy accidents occur during the first 2-3 weeks of going home.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) does not register doodles. We do however register our puppies with the Continental Kennel Club (CKC) since they do recognize doodles. All of our breeding dogs are either registered with the AKC, CKC or both.
We do provide a health guarantee for one year. We strive our best to complete the health testing on all our parents and send home happy healthy puppies!
